ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION -SEPTEMBER 15, 2008 18 <br /> City Administrator Moorse indicated he did not have significant changes in mind <br /> for the current organizational structure but reviewed his thoughts and ideas for the <br /> City. He has broken out administrative support after discussions among staff. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked for clarification on the levels and if the three <br /> directors were on the same pay scale. <br /> City Administrator Moorse stated this was the case_ <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the different organizational structure proposals and <br /> how the work would break down into the various departments. <br /> City Administrator Moorse indicated he would like to have an organizational <br /> structure better defined and in place before the TCAAP development begins. He <br /> stated this would allow for smooth movement of these projects through staff and <br /> Council. He indicated all departments will be evaluated to see what can be <br /> automated for efficiency. <br /> Mayor Harpstead asked how many full time employees were required for the <br /> proposed organizational structure. <br /> City Administrator Moorse stated it would be the 24 employees, which was the <br /> same number currently on staff. <br /> Councilmember Holden questioned where emergency preparedness fell into this <br /> diagram. <br /> City Administrator Moorse stated this is currently under the Public Works <br /> Director. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked who would be handling the elections. <br /> City Administrator Moorse indicated he would like a deputy city clerk on staff to <br /> be the expert in this area. He stated the deputy clerk was put into the budget for <br /> 2009. <br /> Councilmember Holmes stated she felt there may be objection to the deputy city <br /> clerk because the City was so fiscally conservative. <br />
