This fleet requires regular repairs and <br /> maintenance to keep it operational. <br /> On November L. 20081, our maintenance staff began a detailed tracking of the tasks they <br /> complete each day. This detailed tracking contains over 100 activities that our <br /> maintenance staff completes on a regular basis. These activities are then grouped into <br /> smaller categories to better provide an overall view of where time is spent. We have now <br /> completed the first year of this tracking. The final page of this report is a statistical <br /> summary of the past 12 .months(November 2008- October 2009) for our eight full time <br /> maintenance employees. <br /> A regular work year for a single employee is 2,080 hours. With our maintenance crew <br /> consisting of eight employees, we have a total of 16,640 regular work hours in each year. <br /> During the past 12 months we have logged just over 17,250 hours completing the <br /> different tasks as tracked by our maintenance staff. <br /> Over the last 12 months our staff has spent the most time on parks and building <br /> maintenance related tasks. 31,787 hours were logged to parks maintenance related <br /> categories. Snow removal from trails and pathways is not included in this total. All <br /> snow removal from paved surfaces is accounted for in the snow and ice control category <br /> which is included in the Street Department. <br />
