Sanitary sewer Utility: • 42 Miles of main line • 11,050 manholes • 14 lift stations Storm and Surface water Utility: • 20 Miles of pipe • 870 catch basins • 8 larger grit chambers • 28 outfall areas • 15 sediment basins and ponds • Approximately 35 rain garden and infiltration control structures Parks,Trails, and Open space: • 145 Acres • 15 Parks • 11 Miles pathway • 11 playground structures • 14 sport courts (Tennis, Basketball) • 15 sports fields (soccer, baseball, and softball) • 7 skating rinks (four different locations) To assist our crews in maintaining the above listed infrastructure, we have over 65 different pieces of equipment in our fleet, ranging from large commercial sized vehicles to smaller hand held motorized equipment. This fleet requires regular repairs and maintenance to keep it operational. On November L. 20081, our maintenance staff began a detailed tracking of the tasks they complete each day. This detailed tracking contains over 100 activities that our maintenance staff completes on a regular basis. These activities are then grouped into smaller categories to better provide an overall view of where time is spent. We have now completed the first year of this tracking. The final page of this report is a statistical summary of the past 12 .months(November 2008- October 2009) for our eight full time maintenance employees. A regular work year for a single employee is 2,080 hours. With our maintenance crew consisting of eight employees, we have a total of 16,640 regular work hours in each year. During the past 12 months we have logged just over 17,250 hours completing the different tasks as tracked by our maintenance staff. Over the last 12 months our staff has spent the most time on parks and building maintenance related tasks. 31,787 hours were logged to parks maintenance related categories. Snow removal from trails and pathways is not included in this total. All snow removal from paved surfaces is accounted for in the snow and ice control category which is included in the Street Department.
