MR-DEN HILLS CITY COITNCIL-July 13, 2009 5 <br /> Financial Report (PAFR), quarterly and monthly reports for the City. She went <br /> over the budget process improvements, the Enterprise Funds, the Springbrook <br /> Software improvements, and the policies and procedures that have been completed. <br /> She also went through the projects that have been completed by the Finance <br /> Department, Office Support Staff and the Human Resources and Deputy Clerk. <br /> The future activities for the Finance Department were presented. <br /> Councilmember Grant stated that last year there were 650 people that had used <br /> the on-line bill pay and as of May 2009 there were over 800 people that had used it. <br /> He stated it is a great accomplishment that the City can offer this benefit to the <br /> residents. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked when the City would be paperless. <br /> Finance Director Iverson stated that Staff is currently working on this and is <br /> expecting to require all their vendors to submit their bills electronically within the <br /> next year. Staff is also looking into ways to make the receivables electronic as well. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked if Springbrook had any other modules that would <br /> be beneficial to Staff. <br /> Finance Director Iverson stated that staff would like to look at the Human <br /> Resource module next. She stated that staff is also hoping to get into Project <br /> Management. This is currently available to staff but they have .not had the staff <br /> time for this. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that it was great that the City was getting interns <br /> and that they were able to get scholarships and grants to pay for these positions. <br /> Mayor Harpstead yielded the gavel at 7:37 p.m. in order to make statements on <br /> record to the Council regarding a resolution containing TCAAP Reuse Guidelines <br /> that was passed on a 3-1 vote while he was on vacation. <br /> Mayor Harpstead stated that he wanted to acknowledge several community needs <br /> in Arden Hills. These include: <br /> Trail Connections <br /> o Completion of Safe Routes to Schools Trail (Valentine Hills) <br /> o Trail across TH51 <br /> o N/S along Old Snelling <br /> o Connection to Long Lake Regional Park (along CR 96) <br /> o Replacement of Trail Section on Lexington North of Interstate 694 <br />
