ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—May 24, 2010 8
9. Council Comments (continued)
before deciding. The PTRC felt that it would be advisable to have a hydrologist take a look at -
this. If the City is going to make any major changes to this area it would be good to have this
information available. If the park is not on solid ground then there may be other options that need
to be looked at. He recommended if the City was going to do anything this year then the Council
should get a handle on this.
Mayor Harpstead stated this could be a project for the new person that Roseville will be hiring.
Councilmember Holden asked if Roseville has hired a hydrologist.
Civil Engineer Giga clarified Roseville is potentially looking for someone with a water resources
background. The City of Roseville will have a full position for Roseville in 2011; however, one
of the things that the City will be looking at when getting resumes back for the current opening is
what their special focuses are and if these can be utilized for Arden Hills.
Councilmember Grant stated there is an item in the budget to take a look at State Trunk
Highway 10 south of Lindey's. He asked when this would happen.
Civil Engineer Giga stated this is one of the projects that have been identified for the additional
engineer Roseville will be adding and it would be mid-summer at the earliest.
Mayor Harpstead stated when the power poles on County Road F by Bremer Bank were done it
appears some of them were cut off short and left there. There are now more poles than there were
previously. He asked if the wires from this are yet to be moved to the tall poles.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated he would follow up with this.
Mayor Harpstead asked for an update on the Traverse Business Center.
Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated they are continuing their marketing efforts.
They had one unidentified company looking at the site but to what extent they would not say.
They have a two-year extension through next year. He stated he would contact them to see if they
could share who the interested party was and if there were any other updates.
City Administrator Patrick Klaers stated he has been getting a good introduction to the City
and attending quarterly meetings. He is getting acquainted with the City, its residents and issues
unique to the City.
ADJOURN
MOTION: Councilmember Grant moved and Mayor Harpstead seconded a motion to
adjourn. The motion carried unanimously (3-0).
