- RDEN HILLS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL—MAY 1712010 3 <br /> A. Sanitary Sewer Repair— Venus Avenue Easement (continued) <br /> Mayor Harpstead indicated he would like the forester and City staff to decide what was best for the area. <br /> Councilmember Holden noted this was an unbudgeted amount and felt $1,500 was too much. <br /> Finance Director Iverson stated funds could be taken out of the sanitary sewer budget to cover <br /> the replacement of the trees. <br /> AMENDMENT: Councilmember McClunLy moved and Mayor Harpstead seconded an <br /> amendment to the motion to have the funds come from the sanitary <br /> sewer fund. <br /> Councilmember Grant asked if staff would be bringing a landscaping plan back to Council <br /> before the trees or shrubs were planted. <br /> Civil Engineer Giga indicated this information could be brought back to Council through the <br /> Admin Update. She stated a notice would be sent to surrounding homeowners explaining why the <br /> trees had to be removed and that the Council has authorized additional plantings. - <br /> The motion as amended carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> B. Public Works Director Job Description <br /> Finance Director Iverson stated at the May 1 Oth meeting the Council authorized staff to advertise <br /> for the Public Works Director position. She reviewed the job description with revisions from the <br /> Personnel Committee. This information would be posted on the City's website and sent out to <br /> those requesting information. <br /> Councilmember McClung asked staff to review the main changes to the language. <br /> City Administrator Klaers indicated two of the main changes were to the desired qualifications. <br /> The City would find it desirable for the applicants to have a degree in Civil Engineering and to be <br /> registered as a professional engineer in the State of Minnesota. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked when the deadline was to accept applications. <br /> Finance Director Iverson stated this was set to end on June 4th. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a motion <br /> to approve the Public Works Director Job Description. The motion carried <br /> unanimously (5-0). <br />
