1. July 26 -- The City awards contract for plans, specifications, and construction <br />engineering. <br />2. Mid-August — Plans and specifications will be completed and the project will be <br />advertised for bids. Inland Properties will have an opportunity to review the design <br />and estimated construction costs. Unce the bids are received, the City will provide <br />Inland Properties with the bid results to determine if the costs are acceptable and they <br />are still willing to participate in the project. <br />3. September 13 -- Bid results will be presented to the City Council for potential contract <br />award. <br />4. Upon completion of the project, Inland will reimburse the City for one half the <br />project cost. If Inland chooses to have the cost specially assessed, the special <br />assessment would be repaid over three years. <br />If project B is selected for construction, the review and construction timeline would coincide <br />with project A. <br />Financial Im plications <br />The costs to complete the plans, specifications, and construction monitoring will be paid for out <br />of the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund (PIR). If Project A, the new Lexington Avenue <br />Trail, moves forward, the City may be reimbursed for up to half the cost related to Project A <br />through the special assessment that the property owner has agreed to. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends contracting with MFR.A, Inc. to prepare final plans and specifications as well <br />as provide construction services to construct a new sidewalk between Grey Fox Road and CP <br />Railroad crossing along Lexington Avenue and to reconstruct the existing trail between <br />Cummings Park Drive and County Road F along Lexington Avenue for an amount not to exceed <br />$16,970. <br />City of A�den Hills <br />City Council �I�Ieeting for July 26, 2010 <br />IlAhdocsllahlAHdatalPlanninglCommunity DevelopmentlLexington Avenue Sidewalk1072610 - Regular Meeting - CC Memo - Lexington Avenue <br />Sidewalk.doc <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
