Landscaping and Tree Preservation Section 1325.05 Subd. 1 and 1325.055 Caliper Inches Required Exceeds Requirements A Landscaping Plan was submitted by the applicant and presented to the Planning Commission at the September 8, 2010, meeting. Based on the square footage of the proposed buildings the City Code requires 320 caliper inches of trees to be located on site; however, existing and preserved trees on the site are permitted to count towards this requirement. There are currently 530 caliper inches of trees on site. No trees are proposed to be removed at this time. Trees along Street Frontage Meets Requirements City Code requires that a minimum of one tree be planted along the right of way for every 40 feet of street frontage. A condition has been added that would require this regulation to be met. Perennials and Shrubberies Flexibility Requested City Code requires that at least ten percent of the total landscaped area shall be covered with perennials and /or shrubbery. Code requires 7,300 square feet of perennials and shrubbery. The applicant is proposing 5,800 square feet.
