EN HILLS <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2010 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chair Peck called the September 21, 2010, meeting of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee to <br />order at 6:34 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair John Peck, Committee Members Cindy Garretson, Harold Petersen, <br />Steve Scott, Rich Straumann, and Nancy O'Malley. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Park and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson and Charles Kachel. <br />MEMBERS NOT PRESENT/EXCUSED: Council Liaison David Grant and Committee Member <br />Jody Hilgers <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: Committee Member Garretson motioned and Committee Member Petersen seconded <br />a motion to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — June 15, 2010 <br />MOTION: Committee Member Scott motioned to approve the June 15, 2010 minutes seconded <br />by Committee Member Garretson. The motion carried unanimously. <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Elmer L. Andersen Memorial Trail Signage <br />Ms. Olson indicated they had been working with Serigraphics on the design and are now <br />working with IZones (who produce the panels for the signs) on converting the computer <br />prints to digital so the panels can be completed by September 24. Once completed, the <br />panels will be put on the sign structures and will then be installed by early October. Ms. <br />Olson informed that the dedication ceremony is set for 5:00 p.m. on October 14 at the <br />Glenpaul /Cleveland trail head. Chair Peck questioned who would be invited to the <br />ceremony. Ms. Olson indicated she is currently working on the list, which includes the <br />PTRC and Council members. She indicated that Derrek Haines is doing a lot of work on <br />designing the invitation and doing landscaping at both sites which he has been <br />coordinating with Emily Andersen. Ms. Olson indicated they will also be putting <br />together a press packet which will provide the press with some background history. Ms. <br />Olson mentioned that Emily Anderson will be giving away bookmarks with bio <br />information on Elmer L. Andersen. <br />
