ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL August 30, 2010 2 <br />2.A. TCAAP Reuse and Public Sale Update (continued) <br />undertake their due diligence to identify the scope of required remediation. The license agreement <br />will go to the County Board in early September for approval. According to Mr. Legare, the land <br />transfer would not take place until after all required remediation is complete. The remediation <br />and land transfer does not yet have a specific timeline, but it will not occur before the current <br />auction process is complete. There will be a conference call on Thursday which the Council is <br />invited to attend. <br />B. Celebrating Arden Hills Fall Festival Update <br />Parks and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson stated the City's fall festival "Celebrating <br />Arden Hills" is set for September 18, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until dusk, which is approximately <br />8:00 p.m. This year's event will have a dual track with activities being held both at Tony Schmidt <br />Regional Park and Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills. Tony Schmidt Regional Park is the <br />"Swing into the Parks" portion of the event. New activities this year include: hay rides, K -9 and <br />other sheriff demos, bungee trampoline event, miniature golf, antique cars and public trucks on <br />display. All activities, with the exception of the concessions, are free. Highlighting the new trail <br />connection from Perry Park to Tony Schmidt Regional Park will be a pedicab. Lake Johanna <br />Boulevard will remain open throughout the event; however, there will be limited parking available <br />in the park. Lake Johanna Boulevard and County Road E will be available for on- street parking <br />and Perry Park will have shuttles running every 15 -20 minutes to and from Presbyterian Homes <br />and Tony Schmidt Regional Park all afternoon and evening. Presbyterian Homes is the "Fling <br />into the Arts" portion of the event, which will offer an art display featuring local artist's work. <br />Tours of the gardens at Presbyterian Homes are available and their gardeners will give helpful tips <br />on keeping your garden green all season long. Music and dancing will highlight the event <br />featuring the Mounds View High School Orchestra followed by the Resistors. Fireworks will be <br />after sunset at Tony Schmidt Regional Park. The lower trail from Perry Park to Tony Schmidt <br />Regional Park will remain open but some of the trails leading to the upper pavilion will be closed <br />during the fireworks because they are in the safety zone <br />Councilmember Holden asked if there was a place to lock -up bikes. <br />Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated there are locations where bikes can be locked up <br />and Staff is looking into having additional locations available. <br />Councilmember Holden asked if a postcard would be mailed to the residents regarding the event. <br />Parks and Recreation Manager stated the committee is going to have posters in area businesses, <br />there is information on the City's website, and there will be information in the newspaper.
