City of Arden Hills Chapter 13 Zoning Code <br />Subch-7-5Subd. 74Flood fringe. That portion of the flood plain outside of the floodway. <br />Flood fringe is synonymous with the term "floodway fringe" used in the Flood Insurance <br />Study for the City. <br />Subt -76Subd. 75Flood plain. The beds proper and the areas adjoining a wetland, lake or <br />watercourse which have been or may be covered by the regional flood. <br />Subd. 77Subd. 76Flood- proofing. A combination of structural provisions, changes, or <br />adjustments to properties and structures subject to flooding, primarily for the reduction or <br />elimination of flood damages. <br />Subd. 77Floodway. A wetland or rake and the channel of a watercourse and <br />those portions of the adjoining flood plain which are reasonably required to carry or store <br />the regional flood discharge. <br />SubtL-79Subd. 78Floor area. The sum of tie moss horizontal area of all floors of a <br />building as measured in square feet from the exersides of the exterior walls, or from <br />the centerline of party walls separating arched bungs, but not including covered <br />porches that meet the requirements in Sec n 135.03 Subd 2.D; decks; any space where <br />the average floor -to- ceiling height is less f x feet; attached or detached garages; and <br />other detached accessory structures. <br />Subd. 79Floor area ratio (F.
