<br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />September 7, 2010 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its regularly <br />scheduled meeting on September 7, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Chairperson Darrin Mosher <br /> Commissioner Thomas Wood <br /> Commissioner Jim Wekseth <br />Commissioner Olaf Lee <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> Commissioner Eric Larson <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> Administrator Dallas Larson <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON: <br /> D. Love <br /> <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mosher. <br /> <br /> <br />1.Roll Call <br /> <br />It was noted that there are two vacancies on the Commission due to resignations of Roland <br />Parrucci and Jesse Lange. <br /> <br /> <br />II.PUBLIC INPUT/HEARING <br /> <br /> None. <br /> <br /> The hearing scheduled for conditional use was cancelled as the applicant had withdrawn <br />his proposal. <br /> <br /> <br />III.OLD BUSINESS <br />. <br /> <br />1. Amendments to Chapter 156.021 & 156.030 creating a new R-3 High Density <br />Multi-family Housing District and would insert a new section permitting certain <br />existing industrial uses as interim uses in B-1 Zones <br /> <br />It was noted that the ordinance was not passed at the last meeting, but the problem still <br />exists that the Comp Plan and Zoning regulations must match. The proposed ordinance <br />was adjusted to reflect concerns raised at the last meeting. <br /> <br />The impact of the ordinance and future rezoning was discussed. Commissioner Lee <br />expressed concern that changing the zoning on some parcels as envisioned by the Comp <br />Plan and proposed ordinance could send a message to existing industrial businesses that <br />they are no longer wanted. Other members expressed the opposite feeling in that the <br />change in zoning while allowing industrial uses to continue as interim uses gives these <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br />
