City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 24, 2010 <br />City Administrator distributed a draft of a letter that will be sent to the residents abutting <br />boulevard sidewalks indicating that the city would clean snow in certain situations. He <br />asked for feedback before the letter is mailed. The council did not have any concerns. <br />2. Mayor Capra <br />Mayor Capra commented on emergency response notification regarding an event that <br />took place a couple of weeks ago. She added the best way for communicating to <br />residents is on Twitter. <br />Mayor Capra stated she was invited to a session regarding aging. She added Centerville <br />volunteered for a pilot program for Living Well. <br />Mayor Capra thanked the residents who had donated wreaths that will be displayed along <br />Main Street in the downtown area. <br />X. CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />At 7:15 p.m., Mayor Capra recessed the Regular Meeting to Closed Executive Session. <br />The City Council of Centerville, Minnesota met in a closed session on Wednesday, November <br />24, 2010, at 7:15 p.m. in City Hall. Present were Mayor Mary Capra, Council members Linda <br />Broussard -Vickers, Ben Fehrenbacher, D Love and Jeff Paar. Also present was Dallas Larson. <br />The purpose of the closed meeting was to discuss employee negotiations with City Administrator <br />Dallas Larson. <br />Administrator Larson reviewed a proposal from Union Local 49 on behalf of public works <br />employees which requested minor changes in 2011, but 3% wage increases in 2012 and 2013. <br />Council directed the administrator to share with staff the difficult budget for 2011 and the <br />taxpayer resistance to increasing anything right now. Council consensus was that staff pay <br />increases cannot be justified until the private sector begins hiring again and begins increasing <br />private sector wages. <br />The meeting was reopened to the public at 7:30 p.m. <br />Action on Items Discussed During Closed Session -employee contract negotiations. <br />XI. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion made by Council member Paar, seconded by Council member Fehrenbacher to <br />adjourn at 7:30 p.m. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Capra adjourned the November 24, 2010, City Council Meeting at 7:31 p.m. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
