<br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />December 14, 2010 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its regularly <br />meeting which was rescheduled from December 7 to December 14, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Chairperson Darrin Mosher <br /> Commissioner Thomas Wood <br /> Commissioner Eric Larson <br />Commissioner Olaf Lee <br />Commissioner James Flint <br />Commissioner Matthew Montain <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> Commissioner Jim Wekseth <br /> <br />Council member D Love <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> Administrator Dallas Larson <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> Deb Barns from The Citizen newspaper <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mosher. <br /> <br /> <br />1.Roll Call <br /> <br /> <br />II.PUBLIC INPUT/HEARING <br /> <br />1. A hearing was opened to take testimony on the request of Mr. Derek Gavin, 1540 <br />Peltier Lake Drive, for a variance to reconstruct a garage at a five foot setback <br />rather than 20 feet as required by City Code. Mr. Gavin was present to respond to <br />questions. <br /> <br /> No one present wished to speak with regard to the variance. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Wood, seconded by Commissioner Larson to close <br />the public hearing. Voting in favor: Lee, Flint, Mosher, Larson, Montain & <br />Wood. Voting against: None. Motion passed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, the consensus was that there is not sufficient reason to grant a <br />variance as the property owner is not denied a reasonable use of the property. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Wood, seconded by Commissioner Mosher to adopt <br />findings for denial of the variance. Voting in favor: Lee, Flint, Mosher, <br />Larson, Montain & Wood. Voting against: None. Motion passed. <br /> <br /> 2. A hearing was opened to take testimony on the proposal to amend Chapter 153, <br />Section 153.44 (J) to permit hydroseeding as an alternative to sod of new <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br />
