Centennial Fire District Claims through February 4, 2011 (Check #4683-4707 w/Checks <br />#4685 & 4686 used for payroll) <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member King to approve the <br />Consent Agenda. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Planning & Zoning Commission Recommendation to Adopt Ordinance Amending Chapter <br />90 Allowing Bee Keeping & Approving Summary for Publication <br /> <br /> <br />This item was discussed at the January 12, 2011 City Council meeting and suggested modifications <br />were forwarded to the Planning & Zoning Commission to develop a proposed ordinance. The <br />Commission developed the ordinance that has been placed on the agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber requested the minutes reflect that Council Member Fehrenbacher arrived at 6:38 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />There was considerable discussion on the bee keeper gaining permission to keep bees from <br />abutting property owners and what if that was not possible due to personal issues between <br />neighbors that had nothing to do with bees. City Attorney Glaser reviewed the Minneapolis <br />ordinance which states permission is needed from abutting property owners unless the bees are <br />200’ from the property line. Council Member Love was comfortable without permission from <br />abutting property owners, if as a Council, we are comfortable with bee keeping. <br /> <br />Ms. Terry Johnson, 1784 Peltier Lake Drive, asked Council to consider taking into account the <br />property of the individual bee keeper; such as if there are wild areas between the property and the <br /> <br />
