Council Pay Reduction.

Mayor Wilharber stated that upon his request this item was again placed on Council’s agenda for
discussion. Lengthy discussion was had as to differing ideas of Council pay reductions i.e. 10% for a
year, no pay for a month, etc. Lengthy discussion was also had regarding the best options for that
savings i.e. laptops/ipads for Council, decreasing City debt, etc. Consensus was that members did not
desire to decrease the current pay for Mayor or Council Members for an extended period of time with
the potential to hinder individuals in the future from running for office for monetary constrains placed
on families that require daycare or missing other work to allow for serving their community.

Motion by Mayor Wilharber, seconded by Council Member Paar to reduce Council pay by 10%
and designate those monies for the purchase of laptops/ipads for Council.

Additional discussion ensued and it was felt that additional information needed to be brought back to
Council prior to making a decision.

Mayor Wilharber withdrew his motion on the floor and requested that the item be placed on the
March 9, 2011 Council agenda for cosideration.

VIII.NEW BUSINESS

1.Approval of Northland Securities’ Financial Advisor Agreement.

Previously discussed.

1.(a) Resolution #11-XX – Issuance and Sale of $2,755,000 General Obligation Refunding Bond,

Series 2011.
