Reply from Mr. Faust:
I will not be ready for the April 6th meeting, but I should be ready for the May 6th one. Before I can put a
plan together I need a map with the proposed location. Also, do you already have a flag, and is the American
flag all you want? Are there any other specific requests about the project that I should put in the plan? Is
there a specific date that the flagpole should be installed by?
Thanks for the help; I can't wait to do this project. Rob Faust
From myself:
Let me bring this to Park & Recreation next week for their input. We have a specific park, which isn't built
yet, but is part of the trail project which will start this spring. I don't know if we have a specific spot yet
within that park. I believe the flag pole needs to be refurbished - painted? Sandblasted? I don't know as I
have not seen it, but I Public Works could help you to take a look at it. It is big, it was brought here on a
trailer. No we do not have a flag. I would think as a Veterans Memorial it should have an MIA Flag also.
Perhaps talking to Mr. Hathaway, the veteran who suggested it be a memorial would be beneficial. How
about a retaining wall type flower bed around the base? It will need lights for sure. The committee has been
very supportive of all Eagle Projects and I am sure will work with you on any ideas you may have. Keep in
touch and let me know what else you may need. Thanks, Kim
I
