Complete my F,agle Scout project workbook and make sure that everything else I need <br /> involving scouts (inside and outside of the eagle project) is completed before going to an <br /> Many Waters District for final review and approval. <br /> 2. Meet with the public works director for the city to layout tree locations, dependant on <br /> new trial connections and water reclamation project being completed in this same park <br /> this summer. <br /> • March 31, 2011— Per Mr. Palzer the trees will have mounded dirt when planted. <br /> Planting time will increase or an additional night of work may need to be added a'ue to <br /> the bobcat will not be able to remove the sod. I will look at obtaining a sod cutter for <br /> the best price of asking a rental center to donate the usage. <br /> April 2011 <br /> 1. 4 weeks prior to planting: Review grant regulations for tree planting, I will set up <br /> instructions for the volunteers to properiy plant the trees within the pazk. I will also <br /> notify them ahead of time on wha.t tools d equipment that they should bring with them <br /> if they deeide to help with my Eagle project. I'11 provide them with my contact <br /> information if they have additional questions. Meet with the public works director to <br /> map out exact locations of trees. Plan a Saturday for planting with an altemate day of <br /> Sunday. <br /> 2. 4 Weeks prior to planting: Contact Rum River Tree (ry�c�rumrivertreefarm.com) to <br /> place order. <br /> 3. 3 Weeks prior to planting: Put call out for volunteers to the Troop, City of Centerville ' <br /> Park & Rec eommittee, friends and family. I am hoping to work 5 crews, with 3 people <br /> per crew. If more volunteers sign up I will inerease the number of crews. I am <br /> estimating it to take appro�mately 30 — 60 minutes for each crew to plant one tree. <br /> 4. 2 Weeks prior to planting: Review the number of volunteers who have signed up to <br /> assist. Begin making contact phone ca11s with those already signed up and if necessary <br /> start making calls for additional volunteers. I will also need 4 volunteers throughout the <br /> da.y to help provide wa.ter, snacks and lunch for the volunteers. Contact Gopher 1 <br /> regarding the project and have a11 locating completed prior to planting date. <br /> 5. 1 Week prior to planting: Review the weather for the day of planting. Confirm delivery <br /> of trees. Speak with the Public works director about ha.uing the public works staff <br /> remove the sod at each site where the trees are to be planted one or two days prior to <br /> planting. Confirm with volunteers they are still able to assist. Plan food, beverages and <br /> snacks for day of planting. <br />
