City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> <br />May 3, 2011 <br /> <br />Speakers: <br /> <br /> <br />LaNae Marshall-Opposed to the rezoning of the lake front property of Defoe. <br />Would not want to be burdened with the costs of improvements to <br />serve the adjoining property. <br /> <br />Eric Marshall- Questioned how the property would be developed. <br /> <br /> <br />c. R-2 (Single Family Residential) Change to M-2 (Mixed Use) <br /> <br />Speakers: <br /> <br />Wendy Brilowski- opposed to being included in the M-2 zoning district. She feels <br />that zoning will make it much more difficult to sell her property due <br />to the restrictions on expansion. <br /> <br /> <br />d.I-1 (Industrial) Change to B-1 (Commercial) <br /> <br />Speakers: <br />None <br /> <br />It was noted for the record that no written comments have been received either <br />before or during the hearing. After everyone who wished to speak had been given an <br />opportunity to do so, a motion was made by Commissioner Wood to close the <br />hearing. Motion seconded by Commissoner Wekseth, all voted in favor. The motion <br />passed. <br /> <br /> <br />III.OLD BUSINESS <br />. <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />IV.NEW BUSINESS. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.Adoption of Findings & Recommendation for Rezoning: <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the rezoning. Some questioned whether all of the rezoning should be <br />implemented, given the negative comments heard at the hearing. Staff was directed to find out if <br />there are consequences for the City if some of the rezoning was to wait until development was <br />ready to occur or it was requested. The Commission considered whether they were ready to make <br />a recommendation on any of the locations. <br /> <br />a. R-1 (Rural Residential) Change to R-2 (Low/Medium Density <br />Residential) <br /> <br />Consensus was that this one might be delayed until the property owners request it. <br /> <br />b. R-2 (Single Family Residential) Change to R-3 (High Density Multi- <br />Family) and R-2a to R-3 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />
