i
TO: Parks & Recreation Committee
FROM: Kim Stephan
DATE: June 30, 2011
SUBJECT: Updates
Irrigation Svstem at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park
Per Mr. Palzer:
The irrigation contractor notified us that he has us on his schedule for July 18` to start installing the
irrigation cannon system. Xcel is installing the electrical service for the pump and the building should be on
the foundation this week.
Per Dallas Larson:
Same. Drainage issues for downtown. Contracts have been executed for the
stormwater irrigation system at LaMotte Park. Boring of the line from the pond that
will feed the pump is complete and is connected to the pnmpi.ng wet well, Work on the '
inlet in the pond is complete. The pump system contractor can now return to finish his
work. The field imgation system has a September, 2011 completion date, but the I
contractor should begin this work around July S. We have asked the contractor to
mod.ify the sprinkler control to a"two wire" system. It has a slightly higher cost, but
it can be easily ecpanded without trenching new wires from the sprinkler head to fhe
control point. The cost difference is about $1800, bnt we expect this amount to be
ofset by savings in other areas of the project.
Sisnage for Trails
The following correspondence is between Chairperson Branch and Mr. Jeff Perry, Anoka County Parks,
regarding the County's signage.
Pat - I will answer what I can - and then leave the rest to my park planner! Thanks for the positive feedback.
I will pass it along to the SHIl' folks who helped us finance them.
Mr. Perry,
Centerville's Parks & Recreation Committee is very impressed with the new park trail signs that Anoka
County Parks has installed in Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park.
