APR -17 -98 FRI 6133 11% CONSULTING ENGINEERS FAX N0, 6126449446 0,02
Howard R. Green Company
CONSULTING ENGINEERS ow nrl
Formerly MSA MSA
QonsuRnag Englnama
April 16, 1998
Fife. 260094m -0061
Mr. James Graupmann
Division Manager
St. Paul Water Utilities
8 411 Street East
St. Paul, MN 55101
RE: LAURIE t.AMOTTE PARK, CITY OF CENTERVILLE
Deer Mr. Graupmann:
We are working on a grading and drainage plan for Laurie Lamotte Park for the City of
Centerville. The park Is along the western edge of the City, adjacent to property owned by the
City of St. Paul Water Utilities. Attached Is a preliminary plan based on a meeting with the Rice
Creek Watershed District. In that meeting, they had discussed the desire to have drainage from
the new parking lot drain to the southwest corner of the park and into the unnamed ditch.
Presently, drainage flows into a culvert located about 260 feet south of Lamotte Drive and onto
property within the City of Lino Lakes. The preliminary grading plan results in a large arrouni of
excavation and cuts up to 10 feet deep.
An alternate plan we are pursuing involves continuing with the current drainage pattern. This
would maintain the flow of water directly onto property within the City of Lino Lakes before
reaching the unnamed ditch. Conditions of this proposed situation would include, at the least,
construction of a retaining /treatment pond upstream of the culvert and approval of the RCVVD
and the City of Lino Lakes.
With either scenario, we would look for Permission to work on the St. Paul Water Utility property.
i will call you In the next few days to discuss this matter and to see what additional inforrnation
you need. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely.
Howard R. Green
Phillip G. eergem, E.
co, Mr. Jim March, Administrator, City of Centerville
Mr. David Nyberg, Howard R.
