'1 4 <br /> Mr. Kolstad indicated that the bank would like to be open by <br /> October 1, 1998. Mr. Kolstad estimated the building and land to <br /> be valued at $750,000. Mr. Kolstad estimated the taxes generated <br /> to be $33,600 per year. <br /> Marcel Rivard, 7072 Progress Road, has concerns that only a <br /> portion of Clearwater Road is being asked to be vacated. <br /> Jake Shoepe, 7084 Dupre Road, has concerns that traffic would <br /> increase on Dupre Road. He estimates that lots would sell more <br /> slowly in the Eagle Pass development if this plan was approved. <br /> Mr. Shoepe also had concerns regarding the safety of school <br /> children that walk to the elementary school. Mr. Shoepe is <br /> totally against the project and believes the outcry would be huge <br /> if Eagle Pass was fully developed. Mr. Shoepe suggested that <br /> maybe the Public Works site would be a more suitable location. <br /> John Buckbee indicated he has some concerns with spot zoning. He <br /> would encourage looking at a mixed use concept, <br /> Mary Jo Helmbrecht, 1745 Main Street, mentioned she liked the <br /> idea of a nice building coming into the downtown. <br /> Motion by John Buckbee, seconded by Linda Broussard- Vickers to <br /> close the public hearing for rezoning the potential site. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> VACATION OF CLEARWATER ROAD <br /> The public hearing for vacating Clearwater Road was opened. <br /> Marcel Rivard, 7072 Progress Road, mentioned he was in favor of <br /> vacating the entire right -of -way for Clearwater Road. <br /> Discussion occurred on the need to investigate that no platted <br /> lots would be land - locked. <br /> Motion by Linda Broussard- Vickers to close the public hearing for <br /> vacating Clearwater Road, seconded by John Buckbee. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Motion by Linda Broussard- Vickers to accept the December minutes, <br /> seconded by John Buckbee.
