WEEK =N REVS EW
Edition # 43 Year End Wrap -Up through 1 -9 -98
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Building permits issued this period = 1
Building permits issued YTD = 1
* A total of 162 building permits were issued in 1997. Of this
number, 85 permits were for new home construction.
* Reminder! Bring your list of goals and objectives to the next
Council meeting to be considered for the City in 1998. These
items will be consolidated into a master list and discussed at
our next meeting.
* I attended the EDC meeting on Tuesday of this week. The group
is prepared to submit its application to the Minnesota Design
Team by January 15. The application will be reviewed within
four weeks from submittal. If the application is approved, we
would expect a fall 1998 visit. The desired dates for a visit
would be as follows : First Choice - September 17 -20, Second
Choice - September 24 -27.
* I attended the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on
Tuesday of this week. At the meeting, Rick Carlson presented
his concept plans for the Parkview subdivision (former
Tourville Property). The commission preferred the design by
Mattke Engineering over the design prepared by Rick Harrison.
* I attended the Park and Recreation meeting on Wednesday
evening. The committee discussed the ice rink operation and
the plans for LaMotte Park. The consensus was to look at
other layout options for LaMotte Park. The committee
recommended a combination of sidewalks and trails through the
Parkview Development. The committee would prefer park
dedication in the form of cash for this development. There
are two applicants for the vacancy on the committee (Norma
Essex and Douglas Porter). The two candidates will be invited
to the next meeting. The new Park and Recreation Director
from Lino Lakes will also be invited to the next meeting to
see if discussions can begin on recreation programming for the
community youth.
