The <br /> petition shall be presented to the Clerk- Administrator who shall <br /> place it on the agenda at the next available Council meeting for <br /> its consideration. The Council shall review the petition, as to <br /> its adequacy under this ordinance. If the Council finds that it <br /> meets the criteria herein, it may adopt a resolution by <br /> affirmative vote of the majority of all Council members to <br /> undertake the project. <br /> Subdivision 2. Council Resolution As an alternative <br /> to the method prescribed in Subdivision 1 above, a local improve- <br /> ment may be initiated by a resolution adopted by a four- fifths <br /> affirmative vote of all Council members and a statement of need <br /> from the City Engineer. <br /> �j Subdivision 3. Report of City Engineer When local <br /> ` improvements are initiated pursuant to either Subdivision 1 or <br /> Subdivision 2 above, the Council shall direct the City Engineer to <br /> undertake a study and make a report outlining the nature, scope <br /> and feasibility of the proposed improvements, a cost estimate, a <br /> recommendation regarding benefitted property and any other <br /> information deemed necessary or appropriate by the Council. <br /> Subdivision 4. Hearing Regarding Proposed Improvements <br /> Following receipt by the Council of the Engineer's report <br /> described in Subdivision 3 above, the Council shall set a public <br /> hearing on the proposed improvements in accordance with Minnesota <br /> Statutes, Section 429.031. <br /> 2 <br />
