proposed that the City pick up the cost to loop the watermain along the north boundary of The <br /> Woods Development. <br /> Mr. March distributed a letter dated August 25, from the City Attorney - Jim Hoeft. The letter <br /> suggests to change the development agreement that states the city requires insurance coverage of <br /> $300,000 per occurrence to a maximum of $600,000 to a maximum of $700,000 as per statutory <br /> regulation. <br /> Mr. Dick Travis commented that he had no concern with changing the Developers Agreement to <br /> reflect the City Attorney's suggestions. <br /> Mr. Nyberg addressed a pedestrian ramp at the intersection of 73rd and Brain Drive. Attorney <br /> James Hoeft noted the pedestrian ramp at the end of the trail may be a future liability <br /> concern and recommended that no pedestrian ramp be installed. <br /> Mr. Palzer agreeded when Councilmember Powers stated that she preferred not to put in a <br /> pedestrian ramp. <br /> Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Bid Result <br /> Mr. Nyberg briefed the Council on the Laurie LaMotte Park bid results. Forest Lake contract bid <br /> at $153,227.90. Mr. Nyberg felt the City should discuss mass grading on the site. Mr. Nyberg <br /> suggested awarding the bid during the September 9 Council meeting. However, he suggested <br /> delaying the seeding until the spring of 1999. <br /> Mr. March spoke with the Park and Recreation Committee Chairman - Michael Navin. Mr. Navin <br /> noted concern about turf establishment, and suggested the work commence immediately. Also, <br /> the Chain of Lakes Little League commited to helping with the project. <br /> Mr. March confirmed, Councilmember Buckbee questioned that an estimate for everything in the <br /> park is approximately $330,000. Councilmember Helmbrecht would like Park and Recreation's <br /> input, prior to making a decision on all the alternate options. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Buckbee to award the base bid of $153.227.90 to Forest Lake <br /> Contracting for completion of the Laurie LaMotte Park, contingent upon Park and <br /> Recreation's approval of alternate options. <br /> Council further discussed the advantages and disadvantages pertaining to the alternative bid <br /> options in developing Laurie LaMotte Park. Mr. March informed the Council that Publicworks <br /> may be able to do some of the work, thus lowering the project cost.
