RESOLUTION 97- <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> A RESOLUTION <br /> INITIATING AND IMPLEMENTING A LAWN AND <br /> GARDEN WATER USE PROGRAM TO CONTROL <br /> WATER USE DURING PERIODS OF PEAK USE AND THEREBY <br /> CONSERVE WATER IN THE MATTER OF THE <br /> COMPREHENSIVE WATER SUPPLY PLAN PROJECT OF 1997 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has recently reviewed and approved the Comprehensive <br /> Water Supply Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Centerville has directed that the Comprehensive Water Supply plan be <br /> submitted for review by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and <br /> Metropolitan Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, a component of the Comprehensive Water Supply Plan includes a recommendation <br /> to restrict water use to conserve water. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Centerville, <br /> Minnesota, in consideration of the above issues: <br /> Residents whose address ends in an even number may only water their lawns and gardens on even <br /> number days, and residents whose address ends in an odd number may only water their lawns and <br /> gardens on odd number days. <br /> Furthermore, lawn and garden watering is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a. m. and 6:00 <br /> p.m. every year from May 1 through September 1 for all addresses on all days. No person shall <br /> use or permit water to be used in violation of this sprinkling ban and any customer who does so <br /> shall be charged $50.00 for each day of violation and the charge shall be added to the customer's <br /> next water bill. Continued violation shall be cause for discontinuance of water service. The City <br /> will provide notice to customers using the attached water restriction notice.
