Peltier Lake Drive and Brian Drive. The plan will be coordinated with Anoka County for more
frequent sweeping along Main Street.
Mr. Lovelace commented, MSA plans to maintain the integrity of the City of Centerville storm
water collection system. Mr. Lovelace continued, MSA proposes to do so by developing a
systematic approach to the maintenance of the storm water ponds and ditches begining in 1998.
Mr. Lovelace commented, MSA may be able to estimate the future use, helping the city budget
for updates to the storm water collection system. Further, to protect the recreation, fish and
wildlife resources, Mr. Lovelace suggested the Council adopt a Shoreland Ordinance.
Development of this policy should occur during 1997 with a target approval date for the end of _
the year.
Councilmember Brenner asked "Should the Shoreland Ordinance be addressed sooner in case of
any upcoming developments ?" Mr. Nyberg commented, the only development that would be
affected within 1000 feet of lake shore will be the Lakeland Hills Development.
Mr. Lovelace explained, MSA can provide information to the city to increase public participation
through information and education. This can be achieved by publishing regular features in the
City of Centerville newsletter to increase public awareness of water resource issues and
management practices. Additional updates will include adding a stormceptor manhole to the
Center Oaks Storm water improvements.
Mr. Lovelace explained the new stormceptor technology. This particular stormceptor is nice
because, an overflow does not affect the sediment being processed. Councilmember Helmbrecht
asked "How much does each unit cost ?" Mr. Lovelace replied, $11,500 each. Councilmember
Helmbrecht asked if the city could get some history on the stormceptors. Mr. Nyberg commented
the City of Savage will be the first city implementing the stormceptors. Mr. Lovelace volunteered
to research the stormceptors.
Mayor Tom Wilharber arrived at 6:25 P.M.
Mr. Nyberg commented if the Council is comfortable with the updates to the SWNW he would
recommend approval of the plan and to submit the plan to Met Council.
Mayor Wilharber clarified there are no other changes to the SWMP outside of the updates
indicated at the workshop. Mr. Nyberg replied, there are no other changes.
MOTION by Mayor Wilharber, seconded by Councilmember Brenner to approve the SWMP
submitted by MSA dated March 1997. Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting with MSA, Lino Lakes and Jim March -
Ms. Gaustad asked Mr. Nyberg to give the Council an update on the meeting with Lino Lakes.
Mr. Nyberg reported the Lino Lakes Council may be interested in providing service to Gerald
Rehbein's property, located off Cedar Street=' The Lino Lakes City Council plans to have a
workshop on April 9, to discuss their options.
