Bald Eagle Water Ski Club <br /> MOTION by Mayor Wilharber to approve inserting a ski jump in Centerville Lake for the Bald <br /> Eagle Ski Club and send a letter to Anoka County indicating the city approval. Motion seconded <br /> by Councilmember Brenner. Wilharber yes, Brenner yes, Helmbrecht yes, Powers nay. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> City Survey <br /> MOTION by Mayor Wilharber to approve the staff survey submitted by Councilmember Brenner <br /> and to issue the survey to city staff due by June 18, 1997. Motion seconded by Councilmember <br /> Helmbrecht. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Resolution 97 -09 <br /> MOTION by Councilmember Helmbrecht to approve Resolution 97 -09 approving the <br /> designation of fiscal year 1996 Community Development Block Grant funding in the amount of <br /> $5,000 to be reallocated to the senior housing project #667. Motion seconded by Councilmember <br /> Brenner. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Newsletter and Anoka County Mediation Services - <br /> Mayor Wilharber read a letter received from Anoka County Mediation Services, dated June 1997. <br /> MOTION by Mayor Wilharber to include the mediation service information in the Summer <br /> Newsletter. In addition, publish an update on the revised flood plain reduction maps available at <br /> city hall and suggest affected residents contact their mortgage companies. Motion seconded by <br /> Councilmember Powers. Motion carried unanimously, <br /> COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported the Senior Housing pre - reservations went well. Twelve <br /> persons deposited money to reserve a senior housing unit. Mr. March reported the City received <br /> clearance from the Minnesota Historical Society on the senior housing site. <br /> ADMINISTRATORS REPORT: <br /> Mr. March reported the status of the Comprehensive Plan. The City is eligible for 75% funding <br /> from the Metropolitan Council in the form of a planning assistance grant. Also, the City received <br /> a letter granting MUSA extension for the Lakeland Hills Development, <br /> Mr. March reported the status of the Schnitzer Iron and Metal site "Schnitzer Site" law suit. <br /> The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and the State of Minnesota have been named <br /> as defendants. The cities which contributed waste to the Schnitzer Site have been named in the <br /> law suit. The complaint seeks declaratory and injunctive relief to prevent the MPCA from <br /> entering into de minimis settlement relating to the "Schnitzer Site." Mayor Wilharber questioned <br /> if the city's insurance would cover any legal fees and questioned the responsibility of the Fire <br /> Department since they delivered batteries to the site. Mr. March replied, the City Attorney has <br /> been looking into several issues. <br /> 6 <br />
