WEEK SN REV = EW
Edition # 25 8 -4 -97 through 8 -8 -97
-------------------------
------------- ---------- --- --------------
Building permits issued this period = 4
Building permits issued YTD = 101
* A pre- construction meeting was held for the Lakeland Hills
Development on Tuesday morning. They would like to begin
installing the water and sewer lines soon.
* Lynette Christen was present at the Planning and Zoning
meeting to present her sketch plan for a restaurant on the
commercial property south of the Willow Glen development. She
is awaiting a market study to finalize the size of the
building. Kraus- Anderson would be the builder for the
development. She would like to break ground by late
September. The design was a cross between a "Cattle Company"
and a "Timberlodge". Her preliminary name for the restaurant
would be the Pine Trail Lodge.
Gerald Rehbein was present at the meeting to discuss how he
would like to plat that commercial property. A sketch plan he
presented showed a lot for the restaurant and a lot for a
convenience store located diagonally from the Corner Express.
The rest of the property was shown as an outlot. I will be
checking with Greg Hellings to see about the City's ability to
regulate the businesses in that commercial area.
* There will be several items for the next council agenda. I
will provide detailed annotations for each item. I will ask
Paul and Troy to attend the Council meetings I miss because of
childbirth classes. I will discuss the agenda items with Ry-
chel before the meeting so that she can explain the
annotations if there are any questions.
* The refuse haulers have been working overtime to persuade the
Council to choose them as the waste haulers for the City.
Representatives from different firms have or may be trying to
contact you to discuss why their proposal is the best. I
understand that one firm has even circulated a petition around
the community to bolster support for their proposal. The bids
from the haulers will be included in your packets.
