CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 1997 <br /> A regular meeting of the Centerville City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Wilharber at <br /> 6:05 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1880 Main St., on July 23, 1997. <br /> COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members: Theresa Brenner <br /> Sanna Buckbee <br /> Mary Jo Helmbrecht <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Laura Powers <br /> STAFF PRESENT: City Administrator Jim March <br /> City Engineer David Nyberg <br /> City Clerk Ry -Chel Gaustad <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Report from Circle Pines - Lexington Police Department (CPLPD) <br /> Chief VanBurkleo reported back on a stop sign p tition the City received for the 73rd and Old <br /> Mill Road intersection. Chief VanBurkleo summarized the traffic engineering study submitted by <br /> Officer Gleason. Also, based off Officers Gleason's observation the intersection does not warrant <br /> a traffic control device, therefore, he recommended the stop sign be denied. <br /> APPEARANCES <br /> Mary Capra - Centerville Lifetime Achievement Awards <br /> Ms. Mary Capra (EDC Committee Member) briefed the Council on the development of the <br /> Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Capra read a bibliography on each of the 1997 Lifetime <br /> Achievement Award recipients: Mr. Francis Victor Burque, Father Joseph Goiffon and Joseph <br /> LaCasse. Mayor Wilharber awarded Mrs. Burque with a Lifetime Achievement plaque in honor <br /> of the late Mr. Burque. Bob and Ann Thien were present to accept the Lifetime Achievement <br /> plaque on behalf of the honored late Father Goiffon. Mayor Wilharber noted Mr. Joseph LaCosse <br /> will receive his Lifetime Achievement Award in person at the nursing home, where he resides. <br /> Ms. Capra thanked Mr. Bob Thien for volunteering numerous hours to develop the photography <br /> for the Lifetime Achievement Awards. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> 1 <br />
