WEFTr SN REVSEW
Edition # 35 10 -13 -97 through 10 -17 -97
Building permits issued this period = 11
Building permits issued YTD = 143
* We received our reimbursement from the Centennial School
District in regards to the dissolution of North Metro
Recreation. This amounted to $5,519.50. We were reimbursed
for our initial payment in 1997 and also a pro -rated share of
the unappropriated fund balance. A copy of the memo is in
your mailbox.
* The senior housing site has been conveyed to the Anoka County
BRA. A pre - construction meeting was held on Wednesday to
finalize the remaining issues on the project.
* I received a copy of the Met Council staff report on the
review of our comprehensive plan. The plan is on schedule to
be reviewed by CDC Committee on October 20 and by the full Met
Council board on October 23. I was told the review would be a
slam dunk.
* Some banking representatives stopped in on Friday. They were
from Lake Elmo and were inquiring on available commercial
property.
* Goetz Landscaping of White Bear Lake was having a meeting with
Glen Rehbein on Thursday to discuss purchasing the lot next to
Northern Forest Products in our Industrial Park.
* I had an inquiry on the ownership of the building north of
House of Chu.
* Odyssey Lures intends to pull a building permit this year for
construction of their building footings and concrete slab.
They intend to complete the building next year.
* The senior housing project is going to include curb and gutter
around the parking lot and turn around area. I think this
option is the best compromise. The City will be required to
fund this alternate. The cost estimates should be
approximately one -third to one -half the cost of paving the
entire area. The CDBG funds could be used in a sense to
reimburse the City for this expense, instead of applying those
funds to reimburse the City for the land acquisition that was
eligible for tax increment expenditure. An issue remains in
regards to sprinkling the attics in this building. This is
being worked on.
