ANNOTATIONS Unfinished Business A. Adopt proposed levy amount - By September 15, the Council needs to set an initial levy amount and certify that number to Anoka County. The proposed initial levy in the budget is $501,750. This would be a 17.5% increase in the levied amount over last year. I will have a chart that will be distributed at the Council meeting that will show the tax impacts of various levy amounts on a typical household. The levy can always be decreased before December, but not increased. I will have written comments available at the meeting in regards to the auditors suggestions for the financing of the 87 street bond, municipal building and a future public works building. New Business A. Set Truth in Taxation and Con inuation Date - In your packet is the correspondence from Anoka County in regards to dates that we could choose to hold our Truth in Taxation meeting and a possible continuation date. The dates I would recommend would be December 10 and December 17. B. Senior Housing Special Use Permit - The planning and zoning commission held a public hearing in regards to the issuance of a special use permit and received input from one property owner. Included in your packet is the application for the permit, the motion by Planning and Zoning and a letter from the Engineer in regards to the project. The fire department has reviewed the plans. I will ask the police chief to provide written comment on any possible traffic issues related to the project. I would recommend approving the special use permit for the project. As you may recall, multi - family housing is allowed in the R -2 zoning with the issuance of a special use permit.
