MEMO <br /> DATE October 7, 1996 <br /> TO Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM Jim March <br /> RE Workshop at 5:00 before regular Council meeting <br /> I am taking this opportunity to request that we meet an hour <br /> earlier on Wednesday evening at 5:00 before the regular council <br /> meeting in a workshop session. The meeting will be posted as <br /> such. <br /> The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the possibility of Tax <br /> Increment Financing on the 40 acre parcel that is partially <br /> proposed to be the site of the Willow Glen development. We need <br /> to decide if we can and want to offer TIF on this project. I met <br /> with Gerald last week and he indicated he would not do the <br /> development without TIF. Apparently, TIF is only available for <br /> the townhome portion of the parcel, if the townhomes qualify. I <br /> feel that the townhome project will drive the commercial <br /> development, especially after talking with Gerald's real estate <br /> agent and the interest expressed by prospects for the commercial <br /> property. Sid Inman from Ehlers and Associates will be present <br /> at 5:00 to discuss the limitations and restrictions for TIF in <br /> regards to this project. <br /> See you Wednesday! <br />
