City of Centerville Meeting Minutes September 25, 1996 <br /> MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Brenner to set the date of October 23, 1996, at 6:00 <br /> P.M. for a public hearing. Motion carved unanimously. <br /> Nyberg stated the cost of the project would be a percentage and assessed to each property <br /> owner. He would contact Joyce Sevens regarding her assessment. Nyberg stated Danell <br /> had talked to the County and the best way is to shift all the assessments onto Outlot C <br /> since Gerald owned it, then Rocky wouldn't have the assessment. <br /> Council Table - Wilharber stated March had spoke with Northern Forest Products and <br /> they could supply the city with names of persons who do custom woodworking. Issue <br /> was tabled. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Animal Control Contract - March had spoken with the police department and Otter Lake <br /> would be more convenient than Anoka County. <br /> MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Helmbrecht that city staff notify Anoka County <br /> regarding terminating the contract and contact Otter Lake to use their services. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> Regional Meeting - Wilharber asked if anyone was interested in attending the regional <br /> meeting. Due to schedule conflicts no council members would be in attendance. March <br /> suggested, Gaustad and Westbrock and himself attend. <br /> MOTION by Wilharber, seconded by Brenner to allow March, Gaustad and Westbrock <br /> attend the regional meeting on October 17, in Watertown. Motion carved unanimously. <br /> Council Wages - Wilharber explained the current monthly wage is $95.00 for council <br /> members and $175.00 for Mayor. Buckbee suggested an increase to $150,00 for council <br /> and $200.00 per month for the Mayor. Wilharber included mileage expense, extra <br /> meetings, and projects then suggested an increase in both Council and Mayors pay. <br /> Brenner suggested $225.00 per month for the Mayor. Wilharber suggested tabling the <br /> issue until the ordinance was looked at and what would need to be done. <br /> Letter of Support, RARE about kids - <br /> MOTION by Helmbrecht, seconded by Brenner to send the KARE about kids, letter of <br /> support to the Anoka County Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Lease purchase of truck, salvage value of old plow - Wilharber questioned if it would be <br /> purchased or leased? March stated Paul recommend to purchase the truck. Wilharber <br /> commented purchasing a smaller truck that can plow and do other jobs instead of getting a <br /> large plow truck that will have limited uses. Helmbrecht asked if this was included in the <br /> 1997 budget. March said no but the city does have a fund balance. <br /> 5 <br />
