City Council minutes of May 22, 1996 - <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that Mr, Cook has been approved through the end of May. Mr. <br /> March commented that in the three days he has been here he has observed that Mr. Cook <br /> does play an active roll in the city. Mr. March however would like one month to review <br /> the financial aspect. <br /> MOTION by Brenner, second by Powers - Rasmussen to approve Mr. Cook's employment <br /> to the end of June. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mayor Wilharber thanked Mr. Cook for his hard work and dedication to the city. <br /> COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Mayor Wilharber commented on a letter received from the Police Chief regarding Animal <br /> Control and his wishes that Centerville take a look at contracting with Otter Lake, Mayor <br /> Wilharber stated that this issue still needs to be reviewed. <br /> The Police Commission did not meet due to lack of quorum. <br /> The DARE graduation went well and Mayor Wilharber is impressed with the students at <br /> the school and their involvement in the program. <br /> Mayor Wilharber thanked EDC for the Business Appreciation get- together. He also <br /> thanked Randy Hagerty on the tremendous job he did for the city -wide garage sale days. <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported on the Safety Committee. Her comments she shared <br /> with the council after having the first meeting: the committee is looking at setting goals; <br /> they would like to have a central employee bulletin board; will address the top 10 hazards; <br /> and they would like to network with the surrounding city's safety committees. <br /> Councilmember Brenner also reported on the EDC meeting that was held the night prior. <br /> The discussed the fund- raiser to be held during city celebration for the city sign. Comer <br /> Express will donate 100 gallons of gas and EDC will sell raffle tickets for $1.00. EDC <br /> commented that not everyone receives the city newsletter. They also discussed creating a <br /> Wall of Fame in the chambers.
