Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br />10-05-11 <br />Lions Special Event Permit <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley, to <br />approve the Centerville Lions Special Use Permit Application as presented. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Cornerstone Park Pavers <br />Motion was made by Chairperson Branch, seconded by Committee Member Amundsen, to <br />designate Committee Member Amundsen and Committee Member Seeley to proof read and <br />approve the four language blocks in Cornerstone Park. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />VI. UPDATES <br />Parks and Rec Budget Update <br />Movies in the Park <br />It was stated that approximately 65 individuals attending the movie “How To Train Your <br />Dragon.” Chairperson Branch suggested that future similar events should be held indoors and <br />there was concern regarding the serving of food within those sites. <br />Line Balance <br />The Committee was supplied with information from Finance Director Jeziorski stated that the <br />Parks and Recreation line item contained $1,584 for the year and discussion ensued regarding the <br />use of the funds. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Grahek, seconded by Chairperson Branch, to request <br />that the City Council set a side the $1,584 to be used for trail signs. Ayes – 3 (Committee <br />Members Grahek, Seeley & Chairperson Branch); Nays – 2 (Committee Members Peterson & <br />Amundsen). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Can Recyling <br />Committee Member Amundsen supplied the Committee with research regarding aluminum/pop can <br />recycling and stated that a firm named NRI does supply collection bins; however, there was currently a <br />waiting list for their use. The Committee had questions regarding liability. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley, to <br />obtain a recycling bin from NRI when available. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion was made to adjourn the meeting of October 5, 2011 by Committee Member Seeley, <br />seconded by Committee Member Grahek.
