<br />COlmcil Member Paar indicated he is willing to listen to the information but what he has <br />is what he has made his decision on. He then said that he has put serving on Council as a <br />priority despite the fact that he has two (2) very young children and he takes his <br />responsibility seriously making sure to return phone calls and respond to emails as well <br />as do the research necessary to make appropriate decisions. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that she does question the process of how <br />anyone comes to their decision or the decision they make, but she can try to influence it <br />but would not call into question motivation. She then said that everyone thinks they are <br />making the decision that is the best one for the City or they would not be here. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that if the public comes he would listen to what they <br />have to say. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would like the additional financial <br />information if there is a formal request for rezoning. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDATES <br /> <br />1. Canital Proiects <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that it has been a year since the capital projects went <br />forward with litigation and she would like to see a close to them. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the first set of interrogatories have gone out and, <br />barring any unforeseen delay, the cases should go to trial in late 2004. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked how much all of this will cost. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated the City can collect its costs. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated it is possible to collect the costs but the court could elect to <br />award an amount that is less. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked how much has been collected. <br /> <br />Ms. Paulseth indicated she did not have the figures with her. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated he would be uncomfortable with stopping at this point <br />because it sends a message that if you protest enough the City will stop. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he could provide information on the cases through the City <br />Administrator. because of ongoing litigation it can not be placed in packets. . He also <br />indicat~ that his office is keeping track of the costs of the collection for clarification. <br /> <br />Page 17 of19 <br />
