<br />Motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Backman, second~ by Committee Member Burke <br />to rescind the original motion to purchase the New Resident Packet from New Impressions, <br />IDe. for $4,000 (down payment of 52,000 from the 2002 EDC budget, remainder of balance <br />from the 2003 EDe budget) with the monies to go ba~k to the EDC budget AD in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Burke, seconded by Committee Member Scheller <br />to research a downsized new resident "brochure, which would include a trail map and new <br />resident & business information for a more cost etTectiv~ communication tooL All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ouarterlv Event <br /> <br />The Economic Development Committee had tentatively scheduled a Fall Speaker Meeting for <br />local business owners to be held in October, but due to the September committee meeting being <br />cancelled there was not-sufficient time to plan this. The committee members would still like to <br />offer a speaker meeting yet this year on a subject relevant to small businesses. Ms. Stephan <br />informed the committee that there is a Centennial Lakes Police / Business Owner meeting <br />scheduled for December 11, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. and perhaps the committee could coordinate <br />something to be held following this meeting. Vice-Chairperson Backman will coordinate this <br />effort with the police representative and a speaker from Century College. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Scheller, seconded by Committee Member Burke <br />to promote and support the December 11, 2003 Centennial Lakes Pollee I Business Owner <br />meeting and sponsor a speaker meeting immediately following on. a related topic. All in <br />favor. Motion carried onpnimously. <br />
