...

/J

ervilk
'Esta6fi.itet[ 1857

STAFF REpORT

DATE:

July 23, 2003

TO:

Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers

FROM:

Kim Moore-Sykes, City Administrator

ltW?

RE: Elevation Map of Eagle Pass

.........................................................................

Due to the questions regarding the elevations being sufficient enough to allow for proper
water drainage, Public Works was asked to work with Dan Schluender and Ken Cook to
review the elevations at Pioneer Lane. That was done in April and May and reported that
the elevations were within the required tolerance. In a recent discussion with Mr.
Schluender, he reported that nothing more was done because he was not asked to do a
certified survey, which would have cost the City additional engineering fees and it was
his understanding that he was just to verify that the elevations to ensure water was
draining properly.

In speaking with the Public Works Director, he advised me that this portion of the Eagle
Pass development was started in 1996, final (rough) grade was approved by Council in
1997. It is his contention that since the final grading was approved, any issues that arise
are between the developer and the association because final grade was met by the
developer and approved by Council six years ago.
