City of Centerville <br /> City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> March 14, 2012 <br /> certain concrete walkways and pedestrian curb ramping; however, these same areas passed strength <br /> testing. Engineer Statz reviewed Work Order #1. <br /> Engineer Statz stated that there remains one item and that is traffic control and it is anticipated that that <br /> will cost an additional $800 to $3,000. Council had concern regarding punch list items that the Contractor <br /> has yet to complete. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that Engineer Statz and Staff did very well negotiating these modifications. <br /> Council had concern regarding the fees that would be charged to the City for Engineer Statz's time. <br /> Engineer Statz stated that he felt he kept his costs very close to his estimate. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member King, to approve the <br /> presented documents to be submitted to Anoka County. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> Administrator Larson reminded Council of their scheduled March 28, 2012 Work Session where they will <br /> be discussing the Downtown Redevelopment Status with the Beard Group and their goals of business <br /> outreach/retention stated Work Session at next meeting Beard Group and to continue discussions of their <br /> goals associated with business retention and resident services satisfaction surveys. <br /> Council Member King stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee discussed two submitted appraisals <br /> of surplus property from the CSAH14/Main Street project and the City's potential desire for the parcels. <br /> Council Member King stated that additional discussion would be had at their next meeting regarding these <br /> items. <br /> Council Member Fehrenbacher stated that at the last Five Cities (Centerville, Circle Pines, Columbus, <br /> Lexington and Lino Lakes) had met and discussed the grant application submittal to the Rice Creek <br /> Watershed District for the use of salt brine deicing methods for roadways, meeting bi- annually with the <br /> next meeting in August and that the City of Hugo participated in the meeting. <br /> Mayor Wilharber reported that the City is working to repair lighting issues within the downtown area. <br /> Mayor Wilharber also reported that several registration forms were available on line; Festival of the Lakes <br /> 8K Walk/Run, 10 Mile In -Line Skate Race, Kids Free ''A Mile Fun Run Parade and Garage Sale Days; the <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee seeking volunteers to provide minimal maintenance to several park <br /> entrance monument marker flowerbeds; and a Parks & Recreation Committee vacancy. <br /> X. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to adjourn the <br /> meeting of March 14, 2012 at 7:10 p.m. All in favor.
