City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> April 11, 2012 <br /> Consensus of the Council was that they were not interested in purchasing the parcel. Mr. <br /> Tolzmann's opinion was that the parcel value is very close to the County's asking price. <br /> Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher to <br /> decline the purchase of 7261 Main Street property. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> 3. Planning & Zoning Commission Recommendation to Amend City Code, Chapter <br /> 156.030, B -1 Zoning District, Conditional Use <br /> Administrator Larson Dallas stated that there is concern for businesses such as <br /> automotive sales, building supply store or etc. that typically have large amounts of <br /> outside storage and a very small principal structure that they operate out of. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public <br /> hearing to consider the proposed amended language to the Code; however, the <br /> Committee desired to include language that may conflict with other parts of the City's <br /> Code. Attorney Glaser stated that the language conflicts with City Code, Chapter 90. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member King to <br /> send this item back to the Planning & Zoning Commission for clarification between <br /> the two (2) Chapters. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS /UPDATES <br /> 1. City Administrator <br /> a. Colored Concrete Study — MnDot <br /> Administrator Larson stated that MnDot has allocated $65,000 to complete the study of <br /> colored concrete pavements, including Centerville's project. Similar colored concrete <br /> failures have been noted elsewhere. Some results of the study are anticipated in the fall. <br /> 2. Joint Work Session with P & Z and P & R on May 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that Planning & Zoning and Parks & Recreation have <br /> tentatively scheduled May 9 as the Joint Work Session date with the meeting following <br /> Council's regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> 3. Rate Increase — Utilities <br /> Administrator Larson stated that the fees for sanitary sewer increased beginning the first <br /> quarter billing for the year due to increased fees that are charged to the City for treatment <br /> of sewage from Metropolitan Council and that storm water fees also increased due to <br /> fund balances declining and pond maintenance expenditures increasing.
