<br />~ <br /> <br />Metropolitan Council <br />Building communities that work <br /> <br />May 13,2003 <br /> <br />Kim Moore-Sykes <br />City Administrator <br />1880 Main Street <br />Centerville, MN 55308 <br /> <br />RE: City of Centerville, Comprehensive Plan Amendment - Metropolitan Urban Service <br />Area (MUSA) Change <br />Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 18243-3 <br />Metropolitan Council District 9 (Natalie Haas Steffen, 763-753-4298) <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Moore-Sykes: <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Council received the City's plan amendment for a 43-acre MUSA change located west <br />of County Aid State Highway 21 and south of Dupre Road on April 21, 2003. The proposed plan <br />amendment changes 18 acres designated for 2006-2010 MUSA and 25 acres designated for 2011-2020 <br />MUSA and places the total 43 acres into the 2001-2005 MUSA stage. The Council determined the plan <br />amendment incomplete for review on May 1, 2003. The Council has received additional information <br />from the City on May 13,2003. Council staff finds the proposed plan amendment complete for review. <br /> <br />The property is 40 acres or more in size and under Council review procedures cannot be administratively <br />waived. All such plan amendments must go to the Council's board for action. The amendment is <br />tentatively scheduled for the Community Development Committee meeting on June 2, 2003 and to the <br />full Council on June 11,2003. <br /> <br />In accordance with state law, the Council has 60 days to complete its formal review of the plan <br />amendment, with the option to extend the review an additional 60 days. The 60-day period starts May 13, <br />2003, and staff anticipates the review will be complete within the first 60-day period, which ends July 12, <br />2003.
