City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> August 8, 2012 <br /> Council Member Love requested that he be noted as not being in attendance. Mayor <br /> Wilharber requested that on page 2 under 2013 Budget, Centennial Lakes Police <br /> Department it should reference the Governing Board rather than the Operations <br /> Committee. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love, to approve <br /> the July 25, 2012 City Council Meeting Minutes as amended. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> V. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 1. City of Centerville July 26, 2012 through August 8, 2012 Claims (Check #27373- <br /> 27407) <br /> 2. Centennial Police Department Claims through July 26, 2012 (Check #9043 — <br /> 9061) <br /> 3. Centennial Fire District Claims through July 21, 2012 (Check #5427 -5439) <br /> 4. Successful Performance Review — Building Inspector /Maintenance Technician, <br /> Mr. Rick Chase <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member King, to <br /> approve the Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> VI. AWARDS /PRESENTATIONS /APPEARANCES <br /> 1. Ms. Patricia Nauman, Metro Cities Assoc. of Metro. Municipalities <br /> Ms. Nauman appeared before Council requesting Council's annual membership in the <br /> organization. Ms. Nauman gave a brief overview of the agency and the services that they <br /> provide to member cities. Ms. Nauman stated that they are affiliated with the League of <br /> Minnesota Cities, that they represent members within the seven county metropolitan area <br /> at the Metropolitan Council and the legislature, lobby on behalf of 84 member cities on a <br /> wide range of policies. <br /> Ms. Nauman stated that the organization is providing potential members with a one -time <br /> membership reduction of 50% and the City's membership fee would be $880 for the first <br /> year of membership rather than the regular membership fee of $1,764 per year. Ms. <br /> Nauman stated that the full membership fee is calculated similar to the League's <br /> membership fees. <br /> Council Member Paar questioned whether Metro Cities would assist the City in lobby for <br /> cities rights to choose their own emergency medical service provider with the option of <br /> cities providing their own services.
