Motion passed unanimously. <br /> VI. AWARDS /PRESENTATIONS /APPEARANCES <br /> 1. Mr. Hal Leibel, Anoka County Commissioner Jim Kordiak and Mr. John <br /> VonDeLinde, Director of Anoka County Parks — Proposed Sale of Parcel by <br /> Leibel to Anoka County Parks <br /> Commissioner Jim Kordiak introduced himself to Council and stated that the reason he is <br /> present this evening is that he serves in the capacity of the Chair of the County's Parks & <br /> Recreation Committee. Commissioner Kordiak stated that it has been a long desire of the <br /> County's to have the ability to have a facility in the southeastern quadrant of the County <br /> that would enable storage of equipment, building supplies and allow for light equipment <br /> repair and that Mr. Leibel's existing building and property would be a suitable site. <br /> Mr. Kordiak explained that the County would be utilizing grant dollars from the Clean <br /> Water Legacy Fund to purchase the property which they felt was more cost effective than <br /> the alternative of constructing a new building within the Regional Park. <br /> Park Director VonDeLinde stated that the County understood that the City would be <br /> losing tax base if the property became public property which is tax exempt; however, the <br /> County was willing to provide the City with assurances to protection of the Indian Burial <br /> mound(s); landscaping of the lot which would include walkways, a garden area, bike <br /> Page 2 of 6 <br /> 2 <br />
