Committee Member Haiden will communicate with Mr. <br />Palzer regarding obtaining additional bids, for fall construction, from companies who <br />specialize in park construction. <br /> <br /> <br />Dead Broke Saddle Club Donation <br />b. <br /> <br /> <br />A $5,000donation has been received from the Dead Broke Saddle Club and a thank you <br />letter was forwarded to them on June 21, 2012. <br /> <br />3. Special Event Permit Application – Fete des Lacs Skate/Run/Walk <br /> <br /> <br />This application has been approved by the Council. <br /> <br /> <br />4. 2012 City Council Goals & Objectives – P & R Addendum <br /> <br />The goal is to: Foster a sense of community through culture & recreation with the four main <br />objectives as follows: <br />A. Promote, sponsor and encourage cultural activities with a broad range of appeal to <br />the city residents. <br />B. Promote or provide recreational facilities and programs to serve the varied <br />recreational needs of all age groups in the City. <br />C. Maintain City Parks & Trails at a high standard to ensure protection of past <br />investments of tax dollars. <br />D. Promote and protect the history & heritage of the City. <br /> <br />Each of these objectives has specific steps to achieve and a timeframe in which to <br />accomplish them. <br /> <br />The items in the proposed addendum were discussed, at length, with the following <br />recommendations suggested: B-3 delete current wording and replace with “Seek Future <br />Parklands Development Opportunities: and add to the beginning of D. “Support the City’s <br />Efforts to Develop, ……..”. This item was tabled until the next meeting when Chairperson <br />Branch is in attendance. <br /> <br />In addition there was discussion about the possibility of adding a Frisbee Golf Course, with <br />the holes scattered through out the existing parks as there is not an open space large enough <br />to allow a complete course in one park. <br /> <br />UPDATES <br /> VI. <br /> <br />1. Council Updates - Council Liaison King <br /> <br />Council Member King, due to his attendance at the City Council Meeting, was not in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />2. Trail Signs, Kiosk, Donated Park Benches Placement – P. Palzer & K. Amundsen <br /> <br />a. Trail Signs – maps printed & signs installed - project completed <br />b.
