Motion was made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Peterson, to <br />approve the June 6, 2012 meeting minutes as submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding V. Committee Business 1. Trailside Park it was determined <br />that 1a park benches was listed under Trailside Park and should have been under Cornerstone Park. <br />See also Action Item 12-06 <br /> <br />A friendly amendment to the motion was made to modify V. Committee Business: Remove 1. <br />Trailside Park and change a. Park Benches to 1.a. Cornerstone – Park Benches and to change <br />b. from Portable Toilets to 1.b. Trailside – Portable Toilets. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />V.COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1. Park Updates <br /> <br />Cornerstone - Park Benches <br />a. – It was suggested that the two donated benches be placed <br />by the center gardens with one facing east and the other facing northeast; several bids <br />have been received to pour two cement slabs for the benches totaling approximately <br />$1,300.00. The Committee was not in favor of pouring new concrete pads and would <br />prefer that the benches be moved onto the existing concrete and anchored. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member <br />Haiden to recommended to Council to have Public Works place the two benches, by <br />the center gardens with one facing east and the other facing northeast, on the <br />existing concrete and anchor them. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Trailside - Portable Toilets <br />b. – This would be the responsibility of the Bald Eagle Water <br />Ski Club; the toilets need to be placed by the lake; the Committee or Public Works <br />should be aware of the location/placement of these. Need to inform the Ski Club of this <br />proposed action. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Vice-Chair Grahek to <br />recommend to Council to approve the request from the Bald Eagle Water Ski Club <br />to obtain and place a portable toilet(s) at their own expense, with communication <br />from Staff as to when and where the placement should be. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Sand Volleyball Court <br /> <br />Quotes, Specifications, Preparation & Construction <br />a. <br /> <br />Currently there is $11,000 set aside for the construction of one court, which includes the <br />recent donation of $5,000 from the Dead Broke Saddle Club. <br /> <br />Discussion was had regarding the costs of construction in 2012 versus 2013 and moving <br />dirt from the proposed location to fill other low areas in other parks. <br /> <br />This project may need to be postponed until 2013 depending on the best bid received <br />and total funds available this fall, with bid requests going out at the beginning of the <br />year, with construction to begin in the spring. If a reasonable bid is obtained, plus the <br />receipt of additional funding, this project may go forward this fall; an advantage would <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
