• BOLT REPLACEMENT <br /> In the Tate nineties, the City began requiring all water main fittings to be installed with <br /> corrosion resistant bolts. These fittings include valves, bends, tees, and hydrants <br /> among others. This policy was invoked due to several bolt failures which appeared to be <br /> caused by corroded bolts. These bolts were likely compromised by cathodic conditions <br /> in the City's predominately clayey soils. <br /> Water main, installed before the corrosion resistant bolts were specified, exists below <br /> streets proposed to be rehabilitated with this project.
