ARTICLE XXIV — PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO) <br /> 22.1 General <br /> Regular employees who have worked for the City for at least six (6) months are <br /> eligible for personal time off PTO. Paid PTO is not available to temporary, <br /> intermittent or seasonal employees. <br /> 22.2 Accrual <br /> PTO leave with pay will accrue at the following rates: <br /> Years of Service PTO Leave <br /> 0 through 6 months ............................ 6.77 hrs. per pay period <br /> After 1 year through 3 years ............... 6.77 hrs. per pay period <br /> After 3 years through 9 years ............. 8.31 hrs. per pay period <br /> After 9 years through 15 years .......... 9.85 hrs. per pay period <br /> After 15 years through 20 years .......... 11.38 hrs. per pay period <br /> After 20 years until Retirement ........... 12.92 hrs. per pay period <br /> For clarification purposes after six (6) months a regular employee will have 88.01 <br /> hours of Personal Time Off leave accrued. <br /> 22.3 Personal Time Off Leave Requirements <br /> PTO leave can only be used at the discretion of the city administrator during the <br /> six -month probationary period. Otherwise, PTO does not accrue and will not be <br /> available for use by the employee during probation. However, if the employee <br /> becomes a regular employee, PTO will be awarded based upon the schedule <br /> above. <br /> �22.4Up to a maximum of twenty -seven (27) days (216 hours) may be carried over into <br /> the next year. At the end of 2013, this accrual maximum shall be increased to <br /> twenty -eight (28) days (224 hours). <br /> 22.5 PTO can be used in one (1) hour increments. <br /> 22.6 This accrual schedule will remain in effect for the length of the contract or until <br /> there may be changes in the State's Pay Equity regulations whereby <br /> vacation /sick/PTO accrual impacts the City's Pay Equity Compliance status. <br /> 22.7 An employee of this bargaining unit shall, upon honorable severance, receive all <br /> unused PTO time payable at their current rate. <br /> 10 <br />
