Toxic Site Clean Up <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had spoken to the City Clerk and discussed the <br />clean up of meth labs. She then said that other cities are adding iriformation to their <br />ordinances to require that the City can pay for the clean up and" assess the costs back to <br />the property owner to ensure that the mess is cleaned up. <br /> <br />Council asked Staff to look at upcoming ordinances and insert the language necessary. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she would obtain model ordinances and work on it. <br /> <br />vm. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDATES <br /> <br />1. Legislative Update <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated there are still several bills on the floor and indicated she <br />would update Coupcil in the Friday memo. <br />~~vt'6-V\V\ <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated he received a call from Senator Bachrrian,and she thanked him <br />for the Resolution to maintain local government control and said it would go a long way <br />toward helping her show that this is what the City wants. He then indicated that Senator <br />Bac~an,rould be meeting with the Governor later in the week and the resolution would <br />be discussed. . <br /> <br />2. Capital Projects <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that he is moving forward on the settlement documents for <br />Woods of Clearwater Creek. He then said he met with the City Engineer regarding issues <br />on Deer Pass and the integrity of the engineering bill. Mr. Peterson forwarded the <br />documentation to him and it will be reviewed and assessed. <br /> <br />3. Local Government Officials Meeting <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes reminded Council that if Members were interested in going to the <br />Local Government Officials Meeting she would need RSVP's by Friday, April 25, 2003. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that she has been getting calls from residents concerning the <br />rough road along Heritage and LaMotte and Mr. Palzer will be obtaining cost estimates <br />from local contractors for a semi-permanent patch. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee commented that the road is a mess and he would like to rebuild it <br />rather than patch it. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that Lino Lakes has the other end of the road and they are <br />planning on redoing that road in 2006. <br /> <br />Page 9 of 11 <br />
