Traffic was determined to be a major
issue for the whole area that is adjacent to I35E, CSAH 8/14 (Main Street) and now CSAH 21 (20th
Avenue). CSAH 21 is emerging as a major roadway of concern due to the possible construction of
Eagle Brook Church and future commercial development plans for Lino Lakes and Columbus
Township.

Some of those possible study issues were listed at the Tri-City Meeting and are as follows:
1.) I35W/I35E Connection. There was an idea at one time that perhaps the connection to link
I35E and I35W would occur to the north ofCenterville. The thought was that if the
connection went north, then the road improvements to CSAH 14 would not necessary be so
significant. As we've learned, this has turned out to not be the case; Anoka County has
moved ahead with road improvement plans for CSAH 14 due to various impediments to
new road construction to the north.

2.) CSAH 8/14 Impact on Hosting Cities. What are the potential impacts? Economically? On
the community? City's infrastructure? Area infrastructure?

3.) How Do We get Ahead of the Proiects? Design standards for the city? Design standards
for the area? Working with the various jurisdictions to accomplish design standards.

4.) Border Road with Hugo and Lino Lakes.

5.) Broadway and Highway 97.

6.) Access Management for CSAH 21. Lino Lakes and Centerville

7.) Multi-modal Facilities. Pedestrian, Park & Rides

8.) Trunk Hi2hway 61. Turn back to Anoka County from MNDOT.
