Placement of Recycling Collection Container Per Request of City of Lino Lakes

Administrator Larson stated that previously it was discussed that the City of Lino Lakes
desired to place a recycling collection trailer in the fire hall parking lot in an attempt to
achieve funding for their planned construction of a park near the corner of Centerville
Road and Birch Street. Both cities felt that the park would be utilized by their respective
residents. Administrator Larson stated that initially the request was discussed through the
Centennial Fire District Steering Committee.

Discussion was had regarding a written agreement responsibility for disposal of
inappropriate material(s), length of time of placement, Centerville’s desire to offer the
same type of recycling opportunity, reciprocating offerings, recycling reporting and
signage.

Motion was made by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member
Paar to approve the placement of a recycling collection trailer in the fire hall
parking lot for a period of one year with the City of Lino Lakes being responsible
for disposal of inappropriate materials discarded at the same location and the City
of Centerville receiving tonnage credit for items recycled.
